Summer Institute? |

The Summer
Institute is July 9, to August 5, 2006. |

Are students
required to stay on campus in the residence halls? |

Yes. |

What
about supervision? |
 |
Students
will be supervised by one counselor or residential assistant
for each 15 students, day and night. There will also be
a day time nurse and a night time EMT in residence. |

What other
activities are offered? |
 |
Many fun evening
and weekend activities are planned, such as movies, special
tutoring sessions and weekend field trips to nearby Deep
Creek Lake and other hot spots in Pennsylvania and West
Virginia. |

Do you really
pay the students? |
 |
Yes. Upon
completion, each 7th through 9th grader will receive $200
and each 10th through 12th grader will receive $400. |

What is the
curriculum study all about? |
 |
Garrett College
is spearheading an effort to offer inquiry-based teaching
tools to select districts, with eventual expansion statewide.
The Summer Institute will be professional evaluated to
ensure measurable effectiveness. Educators at Garrett
College are excited about this opportunity. |
